How to handle KIWA pipes
How to handle KIWA certified pipes (PE threaded pipes and screens)
To obtain maximum tightness of the threads please be aware of the following:
- Upon delivery please check that the pipes have been properly wrapped and that they are delivered on pallets or other types of wooded frames. The wooded frames should be at least 30 cm longer that the pipes in both ends.
- Check that all pipes and threads are clean and without any damage. The pipes must not be oval.
- The male thread should be wrapped with teflon tape (type Jumbo tape 19 * 0,20 mm). The first 20mm of the thread should be wrapped with a layer of app. 0.8mm and the last 30mm with a layer of app. 0.4mm. One layer of tape is app. 0.2mm.
- When screwing the pipes together, be sure to fasten really tight, so there’s no space between the pipes.
- KIWA pipes should be stored in shadow and always cover or wrapped.
